# Health & Medical Disclaimer
*Last updated: April 19, 2026 (v2)*
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ THIS DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE USING KEEPEATCLEAN.
KeepEatClean (the "App") is a wellness, nutrition, and lifestyle information tool. It is not a medical device, is not regulated as a medical device, and does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or medical condition. The information presented in the App — including food analysis scores, EatClean scores, anti-aging insights, longevity time estimates, biological age estimates, inflammation assessments, risk alerts, and any other metric — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or psychological advice.
Your use of the App is at your own risk. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Health & Medical Disclaimer and agree to it.
## Not Medical Advice
Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician, registered dietitian, qualified mental-health provider, or other qualified healthcare professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, mental-health condition, dietary needs, food allergies, supplementation, or fitness program. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or seen in the App.
## AI Limitations
The App uses artificial intelligence (currently OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini and omni-moderation-latest models, accessed through our backend proxy) to analyze food labels, estimate meal nutrition, and moderate content. AI-generated outputs:
- may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or fabricated ("hallucinated") information;
- may sound confident even when wrong;
- should not be the sole basis for any dietary, fitness, or medical decision;
- cannot account for your complete medical history or individual circumstances;
- may not detect all allergens, contaminants, additives, or harmful ingredients;
- are not validated by any regulatory authority.
Always verify important nutritional and allergen information by reading the actual product label and consulting a qualified professional where appropriate.
## Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating
Calorie tracking, fasting features, biological age scores, and longevity time estimates can be triggering for individuals with a current or past eating disorder, body-image difficulty, or other disordered relationship with food or exercise. The App is not designed for, and must not be used as part of, the treatment or management of any eating disorder. If you have a history of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, orthorexia, ARFID, or any other disordered-eating pattern — or if at any time using the App causes you distress, anxiety, obsessive thinking about food, or compulsive behavior — please discontinue use immediately and speak to a qualified mental-health professional or eating-disorder specialist.
Help is available:
- United States — National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA): [https://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org](https://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org) — call or text the helpline at 1-800-931-2237.
- United Kingdom — Beat Eating Disorders: [https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk](https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk) — adult helpline 0808 801 0677.
- In other countries, please consult local mental-health services or a qualified clinician.
## Intermittent Fasting Safety
The App includes features for tracking intermittent fasting and may surface educational content about fasting, autophagy, and time-restricted eating. Intermittent fasting is not appropriate for everyone and can be harmful for certain individuals. Do NOT begin or continue intermittent fasting without first consulting a qualified healthcare professional if any of the following apply to you:
- you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive;
- you have type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes treated with insulin or sulfonylureas, or any other condition that affects blood-sugar regulation;
- you have a history of an eating disorder or disordered eating;
- you take medications whose absorption or efficacy depends on food intake (including but not limited to insulin, certain blood-pressure medications, lithium, anticoagulants, and certain psychiatric medications);
- you are underweight or have a history of being underweight;
- you are under 18 or over 65;
- you have a chronic medical condition, are recovering from illness or surgery, or have any condition that affects energy availability.
Stop fasting and seek medical attention if you experience dizziness, fainting, persistent fatigue, irregular heartbeat, severe headaches, confusion, or any other concerning symptom.
## Pregnancy & Nursing
Nutritional needs during pregnancy and breastfeeding are individualized and clinically managed. Do not use the App as a substitute for prenatal or postpartum nutrition guidance. Do not begin fasting, restrictive eating, or any new dietary protocol during pregnancy or while nursing without consulting your obstetrician, midwife, pediatrician, or registered dietitian.
## Medications & Medical Conditions
Dietary changes — including changes to caloric intake, carbohydrate intake, protein intake, sodium intake, water intake, and meal timing — can affect how medications work. This includes, without limitation, insulin and other diabetes medications, blood-pressure medications, blood thinners, lithium, antidepressants, certain antipsychotics, and thyroid medications. Speak to your prescribing clinician before making any change to your diet, fasting schedule, or supplement regimen.
## Food Allergies & Sensitivities
If you have food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities, do NOT rely on the App to determine whether a product is safe for you. AI label analysis can miss allergens, miss cross-contamination warnings, or misread the product label. Always read the actual physical product label, contact the manufacturer if you are unsure, and follow your healthcare provider's or allergist's guidance.
## Anti-Aging & Longevity Estimates
Anti-aging scores, biological age estimates, longevity time calculations (such as "ages you X days" or "+X minutes of life expectancy"), aging impact assessments, and similar metrics shown in the App are illustrative estimates inspired by published nutritional and epidemiological research. They are NOT clinically validated measurements, are NOT derived from your medical records, your genetics, or any biomarker testing, and do NOT predict your actual lifespan or biological age. They are provided solely for educational and motivational purposes to encourage healthier food choices. They must not be interpreted as medical predictions, must not be used to make medical decisions, and must not be relied upon to evaluate the effectiveness of any medical treatment. Individual outcomes vary enormously based on genetics, lifestyle, environment, and medical history.
## Risk Alerts & Health Assessments
Any "risk alert", "health alert", or risk-assessment metric shown in the App (including diabetes-risk, heart-health, or metabolic-risk indicators) is based on simplified heuristics and aggregated public-health information. It is NOT a clinical screening tool, NOT diagnostic, and NOT a substitute for laboratory testing, clinical examination, or screening by a qualified healthcare provider. If the App displays an alert that concerns you, please discuss it with your physician.
## HealthKit & Wearable Data
Health and fitness data displayed from Apple HealthKit, Whoop, or any other connected source is presented for informational visualization only. The App does not interpret this data for diagnostic purposes and does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of data produced by your devices. Abnormal readings should be discussed with a healthcare professional.
## Fitness & Activity
Activity goals, step counts, and any exercise-related information presented by the App are general wellness features. Consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise program, especially if you have an existing health condition, are pregnant, are recovering from injury or illness, or have not exercised regularly.
## Mental Health & Body Image
The App tracks personal metrics that some users may find emotionally difficult, including body weight and progress photos. If using the App causes you anxiety, distress, obsessive thoughts, or worsens your body image, please stop using those features and consider speaking to a qualified mental-health professional. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, contact your local emergency services or, in the United States, dial or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline). In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, you can call Samaritans at 116 123.
## No Liability for Health Outcomes
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Velcrest Group LLC, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors are not responsible for any health outcomes, allergic reactions, injuries, adverse effects, or other damages that may result from dietary, fasting, supplementation, exercise, or other lifestyle choices made based on information provided by the App.
## Emergencies
The App is not designed for emergency use. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. In the United States, dial 911. In the European Union, dial 112.
## Acknowledgment
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Health & Medical Disclaimer, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy. You further acknowledge that you will not use the App as a substitute for professional medical care, that you assume all risk arising from your use of the App, and that you will discontinue use if any feature of the App causes harm to you.
